Report of the 2007 Amanadehyee Congress - The Challenges
Tuesday, April 3, 2007
Funds
The Executive Committee and Central Planning Committee were stifled
with finances to carry out most of our administrative blueprints in
respect of the Congress. Members had to therefore rely on their
personal pocket monies to get the congress planning machinery moving.
This is due to the fact that dues were not adequately paid by the
large number of members the association has.
The Committees also faced problems of sponsorship. Most of our
sponsorship proposals and budgets which were sent out have still not
been responded to. And this in fact, posed a behemoth challenge to us
since most our programmes needed sponsorships to glide.
The
Association even after the Congress still owes some its members and
other external people who were contracted on various occasions during
our organizational activities.
Communication
There were occasional breakages in internal and external
communications which made it quite difficult for us to meet most our
set objectives on time.
